Chap 16 (Activity 2) What does the line say?

With reference to the graph above, give a scenario that could be represented by the graph above.
Remember to 'name' the horizontal and vertical axes so that you could describe the relationship clearly.
At the end of the description, make an attempt to write down the equation for the graph (with y being the vertical axis, x being the horizontal axis)

The relationship between the horizontal (x) and vertical (y) axes:

4 comments:

  1. horizontal axis (x) = number of wrong answers
Vertical axis (y) = number of marks
for every 2 answers that is wrong , he will get deducted by 2 marks

    1. Look at the graph again (carefully).
What's the relationship between the x and y axis? Go by the lowest possible value when describing the scenario.
Also, note that the slope is decreasing, the way the graph is interpreted could be different.

  2. Horizontal axis(x):time in seconds
    Vertical axis(y):speed of a car in m/s
For every 2 seconds the car decelerates by 2m/s

    1. Yes.
On the other hand, would you be able to 'conclude' the scenario' as there's a 'stop' to the situation?
